Overview:

Event 4 "Cultures at Cruden" Langwarrin is a light trail event that will give runners the traditional cross country (XCR) experience blended with trail running. 

You will again be running at sunset this time around the trails and property of the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch known as Cruden Farm.

This is the perfect community and family introduction to those who may not have previously experienced the newly popular sport of trail running. The final event of the Big V Trail Series will be a celebration not just of the series but that of a community and family of runners who embrace cultures from all around the world.

Distances of 3 km / 6 km/ 12 km have been selected and a progression in difficulty as the series goes on will provide a pathway to have you enjoying your trails and not being scared off. The 12 km consists of 2 loops of 6 km and is accessible for friends and family to treat as a spectator sport with many vantage points.

Start times will allow for 12 km finishers to also do the 3 km with family and friends after their run however they will not be eligible for prizes in the 3 km.

SERIES POINTS:

Each event category will award points to the top 15 finishing places with runners accumulating points over the 4 event series, all finishers not placed in the top 15 will receive 1 point each. 

Participants must enter the same category with each events registration if trying to accumulate series points for a series place. You will only be eligible to receive prizes for placing in one category.

The Cruden Farm Nitro Trails Spectacle will not have series points allocated.

Overview:

If you build it they will come! Well that's what the corn field said.

Event 3 "Field of DREAMS" Lysterfield is a light trail event this time running at sunset around the Lysterfield Lake and a world class trail network of one of Victoria's most heavily populated areas out in the Eastern Suburbs. Also home of the 2006 Commonwealth Games cross country mountain bike event.

The Big V Trail Series is the perfect community and family introduction to those who may not have previously experienced the newly popular sport of trail running. This race slightly steps up from events 1 & 2 but once again so does the enjoyment with the introduction of some more single trail, bigger hills and some fast down hills that will certainly have you hungry for more and all this around a stunning lake, it really is one of those untouched gems for a trail running event.

Distances of 3 km / 6 km/ 12 km have been selected and a progression in difficulty as the series goes on will provide a pathway to have you enjoying your trails and not being scared off. The 2 km increase is unavoidable but we believe you are ready.

Start times will allow for 12 km finishers to also do the 3 km with family and friends after their run however they will not be eligible for prizes in the 3 km.

Overview:

Event 2 "Temple of BOOM" Templestowe is a light trail event running through the Wurundjeri tribe territory of Westerfolds Park situated beside the Yarra River. 

Runners and families will thoroughly enjoy everything Westerfolds Park has to offer. Starting and finishing perched above the Yarra River tree lines at Westerfold Manor in an open field it will be ideal for families to bring the picnic and throw down a rug as you celebrate family and friends crossing the line.

This race slightly steps up in progression but so does the enjoyment with the introduction of some single trail, smallish hills (except the start finish) and river view that will certainly wet the appetite for more trails.

Distances of 3 km / 6.5 km / 12.5 km have been selected and a progression in difficulty as the series goes on will provide a pathway to have you enjoying your trails and not being scared off.

Start times will allow for 12.5 km finishers to also do the 3 km with family and friends after their run however they will not be eligible for prizes in the 3 km.

Overview:

Travelling back through time to early Australia in the 1860's
Event 1 "click GO the shears" Eynesbury is a light trail event running through the Grey Box Forest and Werribee Gorge surrounds of the Eynesbury township a 40 min drive from the Melbourne CBD. 
 

The Big V Trail Series is the perfect community and family introduction to those who may not have previously experienced the newly popular sport of trail running. Runners and families will really feel they have been transported back in time as they pass buildings built pre 1870's with homesteads, shearing sheds, staff quarters and stables on course.

Distances of 3 km /6 km /12 km have been selected and a progression in difficulty as the series goes on will provide a pathway to have you enjoying your trails and not being scared off.

Start times will allow for 12 km finishers to also do the 3 km with family and friends after their run however they will not be eligible for prizes in the 3 km. 

Please note the Big V Trail Series will not provide disposable cups on the course. Competitors are to use their own hydration carrying vessels or foldable cups will be available for purchase on the day for aid station filling.
